Happy Birthday Zack

Today is Zack's 9th birthday!! I sure can't believe it. Time sure goes by fast.

You notice that it is 10 to 7:00. When I did this post. Zack got up today at 6am. Our clock said that it was 7:00am. I didn't think it looked light enough outside, but I thought maybe it was cloudy. I got up so Rob could sleep in (his has been working 12hrs everyday all week to make up for time off for our trip) I get down stairs and all the clocks say 6:00am. Our clock upstairs has a "brain" in it! When you plug it in it will automatically give you the time everywhere you live or move to. Today was day light savings day until they moved it up this year. So it moved the time up an hour. So I got to get up an hour earlier than I normally would have. Thank goodness for Sunday!!!

I went to Zack's school on Friday to bring cupcakes. I also bought 5 helium balloons. When Zack saw me he ran so fast that he tripped and fell. He wasn't coming for me his was wanting the balloons. He was so happy and screaming and yelling with excitement. We were in the special ed room so at least we didn't interrupt his regular class room. During the party one of the aides went and got a lady who works in the front office. She and Zack are close. She wanted to come and see the party. During the party one of the aides was telling me that another aide was out of the state visiting her sick mother. She was going through a tough time with this. The aide told me that she had Zack call her and talk to her today. After their conversation Zack had really cheered up this person. The aide was so happy that she had Zack call her. When I was signing out after the party at the front office all the ladies were telling me how much they love Zack and how he makes their day!! He goes in there after lunch everyday to take some medication. I was really happy of course after leaving the party. When Zack was almost 2 and we found out the he had Cerebral Palsey. We were devastated and did a lot of crying why me, why me was said a lot! I never would have dreamed that we were being so blessed! Why me what did I do to deserve such a wonderful son! There are a lot of challenges that come with his condition and some days I am pulling my hair out, but it is days like this that make it all worth it. Zack loves everyone and has the personality to make everyone he meets laugh. He has been to 3 different schools in 3 years and every time we are leaving the school I hear how he makes them laugh everyday and when they are in a bad mood somehow he can make them happier!!! They are always sad to see him go. I LOVE YOU ZACK YOU ARE A VERY SPECIAL CHILD!!!!

I have to tell all who are wanting to have children NOT to have their kids anytime the 1 st week of April or the 1st week of October!!! Why you ask, because of Conference. I have 3!!! Zack's is of course April 6th and the twins are October 4th. Birthdays are so hard to plan in small 2 hour increments!!! Me of all people know that you can't PLAN when you are going to get pregnant. When I thought I could I got twins that sure wasn't in my plan book!!!

So we went to McDonald's yesterday. He had a friend from school come his cousins and his 2 teachers from primary. They are such a blessing to us and they just love Zack as well!!!
This is Shawn, Zack's BEST friend, They are so cute together. They always hug and tell each other how much they love each other!!!
The kids eating!

This is Shawn and his mom and uncle. His dad was working that day.
This was his McDonald's cake.
I bought a Costco cake as well the other cake wasn't big enough. What was so funny was I gave all the kids the McDonald's cake first and then started giving the adults the Costco cake. All my kids wanted the Costco cake. My kids know what they are doing :)
Zack opening presents. He got Blue's Clues notebooks. He still loves the show after all these years. He took a hiatus after Steve left. Now that they play more reruns he wants to watch again. If he sees one with Joe on it he says "no the REAL one" funny how kids think.
I think we got over 200 balloons at his party. He loves balloons. Of course most of them landed on my dinning room floor at the end of the day!

Soccer

We signed up Chase for soccer. He has been so excited! He wore his jersey to bed and has slept with his soccer ball many nights!! Then came his first game. He was so excited, but when they started to play he just stood there. He finally would run after the ball after much prompting, but never tried to kick it! I thought well we weren't the greatest at introducing the game to him before hand. After another practice we had a game. This time he didn't run at all. Not with prompting or anything. Then after a few minutes he said he wanted to go home! He wouldn't go in the rest of the game. We have another practice tonight so we will see what he does!!! So much for following in his daddies footsteps!

This was his first practice!
First game!
This is when he actually ran!

Easter

We had a great Easter! We did it on Saturday we had to do it early since we were supposed to get snow later that day. That is two Easters in a row with snow on the ground! The kids had a lot of fun. Later that night we got 2 babysitters and Rob, my brother and sister in law and me went out to dinner. It is the first time we have gone out just the 4 of us since we had kids. That would be 9 years!!!! We had a blast.

The kids were told that if they were good in sacrament that the Easter bunny would come. Rob had to sing in the choir so I was a lone. It was a disaster! I had a YW sit with me. She helped with Zack, but the younger kids wouldn't listen to her. Zack escaped later on and was sliding down the large middle isle. He was sitting on peoples laps who didn't even know who he was. There faces were priceless. I couldn't leave since the younger ones would follow me. We was eventually snatched up by someone who took him out. The younger 3 would just fight the rest of the time. So no one got to open their baskets until Monday. Chase was really a good boy I have to say the other 3 just made it seem terrible. Rob can't sing in the Choir again!!!

Sleep... Or the lack there of

I am not sure what is wrong with my kids lately. I have been up so many times the last few nights. A couple of nights ago Zack woke up at around 2:30 Rob put him back to bed. A few minutes later he was up again. I bribed him with peeps. I told him if he would go back to sleep I would buy him new ones. (I am not sure what the new bride is going to be as I went to Target today and I couldn't find any) Then about 10 minutes later Taylor woke up. I just had to cover her up. Then after a few more minutes Jesse is crying. Same thing just cover him up. It took me until after 4:30 to fall back asleep after getting up so much!!!! Jesse is my best sleeper he rarely wakes up. Chase is next he will only wake up to go to the bathroom, but of course he wants my help. Taylor will wake up almost every night just for us to cover her up. We have been tracking for 2 weeks now with her and there have only been 2 nights that she hasn't woken up. It is fast, but I still have to get up. Zack is by far the worst sleeper. He might not get up every night like Taylor, but he doesn't go back to sleep that well. There are many nights that he will be up from 4:30 on. Not so much fun. People laugh when they hear my email address 4kidsnosleep. The sad thing is that it is true. Is this just my kids or do others have this same problem. I was so naive thinking that when babies sleep through the night they sleep that like forever. I guess I was very wrong!!!

I sure hope that my mom, dad and mother in law don't read this post!!! They are watching my kids for us while Rob and I are in Hawaii next month! I guess that is why it will take 3 adults to watch my 4 kids :)

Rob's Birthday Present!

Rob got a wonderful present for his birthday! He got a free ambulance ride to the hospital. Yep that is right. He was coming home from work and was rear ended! That happened at 9pm. The ambulance came and when Rob told them that his neck and back hurt they shipped him off to the hospital. They did exrays and he is fine. Not a lot of pain today. I just love his truck his bumper is slightly messed up. Her car was totaled! She of course said that it was Rob's fault because his break lights didn't work. Which was a lie. I was lucky enough to find a friend to come over and watch the sleeping kids and go get Rob. The bad thing was it was 35 minutes from our house. At least he is okay! We went to bed at midnight that night.

I will post a picture of Rob's truck when I remember to do it when he is home!

Happy Anniversary!
So the morning of our anniversary was such a joy NOT!
We had to go and get Rob's truck out of the police impound lot. It was more than 50 miles away from our house. We got there and he was in line waiting and then they told him that they needed Cash and they don't give out change! They couldn't tell him yet if it would cost him 155 or 175 to get it out he would have to go get the money and then tell him. I wanted to tell them that we were not criminals getting our car out we were hit by someone. The other bad thing was that the impound lot was in the middle of no where. We had to drive another 5 miles just to find an ATM. The first one we found didn't work. Then the one we found a lady didn't know how to use the ATM and Rob sat there and waited for another 5 minutes for her. She never figured it out!
We were finally on our way home at noon. We had told the kids that we were going to take them swimming today so they were all crying wanting to swim. The twins sleep at 1:00 for I was stressed, but we just took them anyway and they had a great time. The rest of the day was so wonderful. We dropped the kids off at my brother and sister in law's house and we went to dinner and a movie. It was great just to be with Rob after a stressful morning!
